Michael Hansen, Ph.D.

Mike Hansen's specialty is in strategic change management, executive and executive team coaching and development. A principal in the Green Resource Group, Mike has experience with High-Potential executive and leadership development in IT, engineering and other knowledge organizations, non-profit, and federal government organizations.

Dr. Hansen was Senior Vice President, Organizational Capability, a corporate officer and member of the Veridian Corporation Executive Committee, responsible for aligning corporate systems and processes in support of the corporate mission and its business goals and objectives.

Prior to joining Veridian, Mike was Director of the MITRE Institute, the MITRE Corporation, and was on the faculty of the American University (AU) where he ran the graduate-level Key Executive Program. Prior to AU, Dr. Hansen was a member of the Senior Executive Service serving as Director of the Federal Executive Institute, the U.S. Government's premier executive development center, in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Mike has been a consultant and lecturer to a variety of organizations in the U.S. and abroad. He has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Society for Training and Development, and was a member of their Board of Governors. Other long-time memberships include the Academy of Management, The Society of Human Resources Management, and the Association of Psychological Type. He is a member of the Smith College Picker Engineering Program Corporate Advisory Board and the Cameron Business School Executive Network at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Dr. Hansen has extensive executive coaching qualifications training, with Catherine Fitzgerald, author of Executive Coaching: Practices and Perspectives, Co-Active Coaching Fundamentals with the Coaches Training Institute, Coaching to Excellence with New Ventures West, the Coaching for Success program with Manchester Associates, and Executive Coaching: Transforming Leaders From Inside Out, an executive coaching tutorial with Thomas Fahey in Chicago.

In 2003, Dr. Hansen received the Gordon M. Bliss Memorial Award from ASTD for the significance of his lifelong contribution to the field, his work, and his community.

He received his Master's Degree from the University of Illinois and Ph.D. from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
